# Getting started

Onboarding a property onto Optimi takes about ten days from kickoff to live
traffic. This page walks through the sequence so you know what to expect at
each step.

## 1. Analysis

We start by mapping your current setup: origin infrastructure, DNS
configuration, TLS certificates, traffic profile, and caching behavior. You
share read-only access where possible; we flag risks and quick wins.

## 2. Configuration

We configure your edge profile — cache rules, WAF policy, redirects, and
origin settings — on a pre-production environment. Nothing touches your live
traffic yet.

## 3. Validation and pre-production

You receive a test hostname to validate against. Check your critical journeys:
authentication, checkout, forms, and any third-party integrations. We tune
cache rules until the behavior matches production expectations.

## 4. DNS cutover

Going live is a DNS change: point your domain's `A`/`AAAA` or `CNAME` record
at the edge hostname we provide. Because DNS propagates gradually, traffic
shifts smoothly — and rolling back is a single DNS change away.

## 5. Monitoring and guidance

Once live, real-time analytics in **my Optimi** show cache hit ratio, origin
offload, blocked threats, and Core Web Vitals. Your Optimi team reviews the
first days of traffic with you and stays available for ongoing tuning.
